The full rundown

Local Moving in Queens

After a local mover who truly knows Queens? A licensed and insured mover in New York, Brisk Movers has served this borough since 2016, and every job is Cris himself from start to finish, none of it handed to a broker and no day-labor pulled off a gig app that same morning. A single crew does the work, and a single clear number covers it.

What sets it apart

Around here the boxes rarely decide how a move goes. What counts is the fifth-floor walk-up and pre-war stairwell that eat an afternoon, the co-op or condo board wanting a certificate of insurance on file, the freight-elevator window you must book in an LIC tower, and the alternate-side parking on a one-way with no driveway. Cris squares all of it away ahead of time, so moving day becomes the easy part.

How to get set

  • Clear out and donate whatever is not making the trip
  • Number your boxes by room and mark the fragile ones
  • Sort the building COI, freight-elevator window, or parking ahead
  • Break down beds and empty dressers the night before
  • Keep your papers, keys, and valuables on you

What shapes your price

  • How much is coming and the home size
  • Distance across Queens and into the other boroughs
  • Walk-up stairs, elevator waits, and the carry length
  • The day of the week, season, and weather
  • Packing and any specialty pieces

Simple from the first call

Three Steps to Moving Day

From that very first hello to the final box carried through the door and set down in the right room.

1

Tell Us About the Move

Walk Cris through the shape of your move over the phone, on a quick video call, or right in the form. Back comes a fair hourly rate or a written flat quote, not a squishy figure that balloons once the truck is loaded.

2

Lock In Your Date

Claim your day and we set the right crew and truck, then sort the certificate of insurance your co-op or condo board needs, the freight-elevator reservation, and the parking on a tight one-way.

3

We Carry the Load

Cris handles the entire job himself, wrapping, loading, driving, and placing, and we route the run around the BQE, the LIE, and Northern Boulevard to keep the day on schedule.

Your Move, Fully Covered

Handled from the very first blanket we lay down to the last box set in the back room.

Fully Insured

Cargo and liability coverage rides on every job, and we run through your valuation choices together before you put your name on a single form.

Walk-Up & COI Ready

Fifth-floor walk-ups, pre-war stairwells, co-op board certificates of insurance, and reserved freight elevators, we scout the carry and handle the paperwork so a Queens apartment move never gets stuck at the stoop.

Padded & Wrapped

Each item gets blanketed, shrink-wrapped, and cinched down tight. Should something take a knock, we flag it right away and make it right.

Done Right

A straight price, an owner who takes the work personally, and no one clocks out until every last piece is exactly where you want it.

They absolute BEST moving company I have had the pleasure of dealing with. With having to order a moving company service last minute because I had to move items from one storage unit to another, Brisk Movers came through clutch! I don't have enough good things to say about Brisk. Cris and Dave were super cool, made the move so easy and seamless and the overall price was the most inexpensive I have ever paid for a move. I am super thankful Cris reached out first when I was seeking a quote for the move, because I possibly would had gone with almost any company considering how urgent I needed to get the move taken care of but Cris was super efficient with reaching out, professional, reasonable with the price and you feel like you've known these guys for years with how they speak you and handle the move. As long as they are available in NYC and I am still living here, I will be booking Brisk Movers as my permanent moving service. These guys are top notch on levels of efficiency, service and reasonable price. Thank you guys again.

Cris was amazing! So so nice and super flexible when I needed last minute help with moving. He and his partner were very patient while I finished up some packing, and so friendly while they moved all my furniture into my new room in my apartment. Highly recommend Brisk Movers. :))

Questions We Hear a Lot

What will my move cost?

It really comes down to how much you are moving and how tough the building is to get in and out of. Book two movers and a truck and the meter runs from $110/hr, with a written estimate in your hands before we touch a box. Want one fixed figure instead? Cris will give you a flat quote, and that agreed number is the number you pay. Once a move heads across state lines, the math switches to weight and mileage.

My place is a fifth-floor walk-up in a pre-war building. Can you handle it?

That is a lot of what we do. Half of Queens is pre-war walk-ups, and Cris and the crew are used to steep, narrow stairwells, tight landings, and the turns a couch or a dresser barely clears. We measure the stairwell ahead of time, pad the rails and jambs, and carry the heavy pieces down flight by flight, so a five-story walk-up never turns into a problem.

When does the hourly clock start?

The meter kicks in the second Cris and the crew get to work at your place, not back when we pulled out of the yard. Past that first hour every minute is counted on its own, so seventy minutes bills as seventy and never jumps up to a rounded two hours. And we walk you through the rate and how drive time factors in before anyone picks up the first box.

My building needs a certificate of insurance and a freight-elevator booking. Can you handle that?

Yes, and it is routine for us. Most Queens co-op and condo boards want a certificate of insurance on file before move day, and a lot of towers require the freight elevator reserved to a set window. Send us the building’s requirements when you book, and Cris files the COI and books the elevator, so nothing holds you up in the lobby on moving day.

I’m relocating to Queens from another state. Can you help?

Definitely, a solid chunk of what we do is people landing in the city, plenty of them coming in from out of state. We set the delivery window, meet you over at the new place, and take care of the parking, the walk-up stairs, or the building COI from our side. Your belongings travel on our truck with our own crew and are never passed off to whoever happened to bid lowest that week.

Can I move or cancel my date?

Absolutely. Give at least two days’ notice to move or cancel your date and the whole deposit is refunded. Each term sits in your booking in plain language, so nothing gets left to guesswork.

Thinking about local moving here in Queens?

Send us what the move involves and a clear price in writing comes back, frequently the same day.
